Echo & The Bunnymen sind eine Liverpooler Rockband. Sie begannen 1978 im Umfeld von Postpunk, entwickelten sich zum New Wave und gelangten schließlich zu einem melancholischen Pop-Stil, getragen von Ian McCullochs expressiver, voluminöser Stimme und Will Sergeants atmosphärischem Gitarrenstil. Die Inhalte der Lieder fanden sich oft im Bereich von Fantasy und Mythologie.Echo war ein Drumcomputer den die Band anfangs benutzte. Zwar war bei der ersten Veröffentlichung bereits ein richtiger Schlagzeuger zu hören, die Band behielt jedoch ihren Namen bei.
