Antonello Venditti

März 1949 in Rom) zählt zu den großen Cantautori (Liedermachern) Italiens und gelangte gemeinsam mit weiteren bedeutenden Cantautori wie Francesco de Gregori und Lucio Dalla im Rahmen der italienischen Studentenbewegung gegen Ende der 60er Jahre und in den 70ern zu Berühmtheit.

Venditti ist bis heute ein in Italien viel gehörter Komponist, der Stadien füllt. Thematisch setzt er sich vorwiegend mit Sozialkritik und mit seiner Heimatstadt Rom auseinander. Seine Musik lässt sich als vom Folk beeinflusst und ruhig bis hin zu rockorientiert bezeichnen. Mitbegründer der „Römischen Schule“.
