    No Use for a Name oder NUFAN sind eine Punkrock-Band, die 1987 von Tony Sly (Gitarre und Gesang) und Rory Koff (Schlagzeug) in Sunnyvale, Kalifornien gegründet wurde. In ihren Anfängen waren die Lieder sehr viel Hardcore-lastiger, während sie ab den 90er Jahren deutlich melodiöser wurden. Geschichte Ein Jahr nach der Gründung, also 1989, wurde Steve Papoutsis als Bassist in die Band aufgenommen. Er wirkte sogleich an ihrer ersten Single You Bug Me mit. 1990 nahmen sie Let 'em Out! auf und veröffentlichten über das Label New Red Archives ihr erstes Album mit dem Namen Incognito. 1992 stieg Chris Dodge als Rhythmusgitarrist ein und zu viert veröffentlichten sie ebenfalls über New Red Archives ihr zweites Album Don't Miss the Train (letztes Hardcore-Album). Allerdings blieb Chris Dodge nicht lange in der Band und wurde bereits auf dem nächsten Album Daily Grin
